How to delete your account
You can delete your Aligned account at any time directly from the mobile app:
- Open the Aligned app on your device.
- Sign in with your account credentials.
- Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to Account Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm with your password.
If you can't sign in or don't have access to the app, email admin@romancier.app from the address on your account. We'll verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove the following from our systems:
- Profile, name, email, and password
- All NRSI assessment responses, scores, and generated reports
- Journal entries, reflections, and daily check-ins
- Skills Lab progress and completion records
- Streaks, pulse history, and Rewiring Score trends
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers
- Active subscriptions (cancelled on deletion — see below)
- Uploaded photos, avatars, and any attached media
What we keep
For legal, tax, and fraud-prevention reasons we retain a minimal record for up to 7 years after deletion:
- Transaction records required by tax law (receipt, payment method type, amount, date)
- Anonymized, de-identified usage analytics (cannot be linked back to you)
These retained records contain no journal content, no assessment answers, and nothing sensitive about you personally.
Timeline
- Immediately — your account is locked and your data is removed from the live system.
- Within 30 days — data is purged from encrypted backups on a rolling schedule.
- After 30 days — only the legally-required transaction records described above remain.
Once deletion is complete, this action cannot be undone. You can create a new account with the same email address at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Will deleting my Aligned account cancel my subscription?
If your subscription was purchased in-app (App Store or Google Play), you must also cancel it in your device's subscription settings. Deleting your Aligned account stops future access but does not cancel the store-side subscription.
Can I delete just some of my data instead of the whole account?
Not at this time. Aligned's data model treats your assessments, journal, and account as a single unit. For specific requests, email admin@romancier.app.
What if I change my mind after deleting?
Deletion is permanent. Once your data is purged you cannot recover it. You're welcome to create a new account at any time.
How do I request my data before I delete?
Email admin@romancier.app from your account email and request a data export. We'll provide a machine-readable copy of your assessments, journal, and profile within 30 days at no charge.
