Effective August 20, 2026
Aligned ("Aligned," "we," "us") is operated by NeuroSpire Labs, Inc., 5416 Alumni Drive NW, Huntsville, AL 35806, (256) 850-4426. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Aligned is a coaching and self-growth product — it is not therapy or medical care (see our Terms).
Aligned lets you record moods, reflections, journal entries, and relationship information. We treat this as sensitive personal information. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers or advertising platforms, and we do not use it to target ads to you — even if you agree to marketing cookies elsewhere. We do not load third-party advertising or social-media tracking technologies (such as the Meta, Snap, TikTok, Pinterest, or Google advertising pixels) on any screen where you enter mood, relationship, assessment, or private-message content.
You give us:
Collected automatically:
We do not collect precise location, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
To provide and personalize Aligned (your rhythm, patterns, streaks, and recommendations); to process your subscription; to keep the app secure and fix crashes; to communicate with you about the service; and, only in aggregated or de-identified form, to improve Aligned and for research. We rely on your content to compute your scores — that is the core function of the app.
We process your data to perform our contract with you (running the app), for our legitimate interests (security, product improvement), to meet legal obligations, and — for sensitive data such as mood and relationship information — on your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time by deleting that content or your account.
We use a small number of processors under contract, each limited to what it needs:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your sensitive content with any advertiser or data broker. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or in a business transfer (with notice).
Where Aligned offers to connect you with a licensed therapist, that clinical care is provided by independently licensed professionals under a separate agreement and Notice of Privacy Practices. Information you share in that clinical relationship is protected health information (PHI) governed by that provider's HIPAA notice — not this policy — and is never used for advertising.
Your mood and relationship information may be "consumer health data" under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act. We collect it only to provide the features you use, with your consent, and we do not sell it or share it for advertising. You may withdraw consent and request deletion (§9).
We keep your data while your account is active. Purchase records are kept as long as required for tax/accounting; diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period. When you delete your account we delete or de-identify your personal data (§9), except where we must retain limited records by law.
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. In-app account deletion is available in Profile → Delete Account, or email support@neurospirelabs.com. Deleting your account removes or de-identifies your content, including mood and relationship entries.
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor agreements. No system is perfectly secure, but sensitive content is handled with the safeguards described above.
Aligned is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.
We may process data in the United States and other countries, using appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers where required.
Not all information we hold is Protected Health Information (“PHI”). PHI means individually identifiable health information created or received by the clinical practice in the course of providing treatment, payment, or health care operations — for example clinical session notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, clinical assessments administered as part of care, and the billing records associated with them.
Self-help and educational content you create is not PHI. Journal entries, check-ins, goals, and self-administered assessments taken outside a course of treatment are personal data we protect under this policy, but they are not clinical records and are not subject to HIPAA.
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. On closure we archive rather than delete, so a returning member's history can be restored. Deletion occurs only on request, subject to the exceptions below.
We may retain data beyond these periods where required: to comply with a legal obligation, to resolve a dispute, to enforce our agreements, or where the records are subject to a litigation hold. A litigation hold suspends deletion entirely, including a deletion you have requested, until the hold is lifted.
Requests to access, correct, export, or delete your records must be made in writing to the contact address below and must identify the records sought.
Records are produced within 30 days of a verified request.
Where a record contains information about another person — for example a shared journal — we provide your own entries only. We will tell you that a shared record exists and that part of it has been withheld; releasing another person's entries requires their consent or a court order naming them.
Identity verification is required before any record is released.
If we discover a breach of unsecured personal data, we will:
We maintain a written incident-response plan. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable law.
This policy is versioned. Minor corrections increment the decimal (2.0 to 2.1); a material revision increments the whole number (2.0 to 3.0). The version in effect at the time an incident, claim, or dispute arises is the version that governs that matter, regardless of any later revision. Prior versions and their effective dates are retained and available on request.
We'll update this policy as Aligned evolves and revise the "Last updated" date; material changes will be notified in-app.
